Critical Raw Materials projects in DIAMO
Czech Republic has long lasting mining history. But now a lot of mines is terminated. Rest raw materials are mostly in low grade and they are not economically mined separately. In accordance with the effort of EU to have higher self-sufficiency in raw materials Diamo try to open new projects, that are focused on Critical raw material as a byproduct of mining main materials – for example REE like byproduct of uranium mining. In some cases we have older mining works that are usable for mining. Some materials are available from remediation activity. And on the territory of Czech Republic there is a lot of mining waste materials like tailing ponds or waste rock piles with content of Critical Raw Materials.
